Filmmaker, film editor, writer, and illustrator I’m based between Brooklyn, NY and Paris, France.
Over the years I worked on long and short documentaries for France Télévisions, ARTE, France 24, MSNBC, PBS, The New York Times, TIME Magazine, and on video pieces for Warner Music, Tribeca Film Festival, Kenya Airways, Times Square Alliance.
My articles appeared, among others, on Il Corriere della Sera, Il Fatto Quotidiano, Il Caffé Geopolitico.
Between October 2018 and June 2019, I’ve been a Visiting Lecturer on documentary production and editing at The New School - Eugene Lang College.
Since September 2020, I’m a graduate student in Comparative literature at The Graduate Center of The City University of New York.
I am fluent in Italian, English, French, and Spanish but I can bargain the price of a taxi ride in four more languages.
When I write I go by Deva H. Navarro.
Hérisson (hedgehog, in French) is my pencil name.
